They did it!

Four budding cyclists have completed the road trip of a lifetime as they took on the “North Coast 500” challenge in support of the Trust.

Sam, Jamie, Jon and Owen completed the 500 mile circular route from Inverness Castle, affectionately known as “Scotland’s Route 66” which has been named as one of the top coastal trips in the world.

The four friends were keen to support a charity through their week-long adventure and chose the Trust as a cause close to their hearts.

Over the past year, one member of the group, Sam, has endured radiotherapy and chemotherapy to treat a brain tumour.

Before taking on the challenge Sam said,

“I’ve just had my last cycle of chemo and am feeling the cumulative affects of the other 5…

I get tired very easily and am still suffering from extreme nausea, making training really difficult. But it will get better – we will finish – and hopefully we can make some significant money for terminally ill children on the way.

We’ve chosen to raise money for a wonderful charity that supports young cancer patients with very limited time left. It’s about dignity and legacy and creating happy memories. I say it again – A wonderful charity.”

Well, Sam – we think the four of you are pretty wonderful too! You’re a true inspiration and we feel incredibly lucky to have the four of you raising the profile of the Trust on your once in a life time adventure.
